Is my CV data uploaded to a server?
No. CV Studio works in your own browser and stores everything in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent anywhere. Use the Backup page to download a copy.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. Once you have the folder on your computer, open index.html in a modern browser. No internet connection is needed.
How do I save as PDF?
Open the Export page and choose Print / Save as PDF, then pick Save as PDF in the browser print dialog. You can also use the direct PDF download for a simple text-based PDF, which is useful for ATS uploads.
What is the difference between the two PDF options?
Print to PDF uses the browser and keeps your template design exactly. The direct PDF download builds a clean single-column text PDF with selectable text, without the template styling.
Can I export to Word and Excel?
Yes. Word (.docx) exports a formatted document. Excel (.xlsx) exports every section into a separate sheet, which you can also import back later.
Can I keep different CVs for different jobs?
Yes. The My CVs page lets you create, duplicate, tag and compare versions. Start from one of 97 role presets or clone an existing CV.
What does master profile mean?
Mark one CV as master. You can push its personal details to all CVs, or pull a section from it into any other CV.
How do I move my data to another computer?
Download a full backup from the Backup page and import it on the other computer.
Can I email my CV from the app?
The Email page opens your email program or webmail with the subject and message filled in. Browsers cannot attach files automatically, so download your PDF first and attach it.
What are the square brackets in the sample content?
They mark values you must replace, such as [X] years or [amount]. The ATS Check lists unfilled placeholders so none slip through.
Are the sample numbers real?
No. All numbers are placeholders. Replace them with your own accurate figures.
Which template is best for ATS?
ATS Plain and Classic are the safest. Use a text-based PDF or Word file and standard headings.
Can I add my photo?
Yes, in the Personal section. The photo is shrunk and stored locally. Many regions do not expect a photo, so include it only when appropriate.
Which regions are supported?
Region settings cover India, UK, US, Canada, Australia, Gulf countries and a generic option, with sensible defaults for date format, currency and page size.
How do I track applications?
Use the Tracker page. Add jobs, link the CV and letter you sent, set follow-up dates and export to Excel or CSV.
What if I clear my browser data?
Local storage may be removed. Download backups regularly and use the automatic snapshots.
Does the ATS Check guarantee a result?
No. It is a practical checklist and keyword comparison. Different systems behave differently.
Can I use it on a phone?
The layout adapts to small screens. Editing works on phones, but a computer is easier for long CVs.
